At the heart of the lush Panamanian rainforest is the Gamboa Rainforest Resort.

Gamboa has all the facilities of a luxury resort nestled in the heart of the Panama Canal, under the National Park Soberania and on convergence with the Chagres River, only 30 minutes from the city.

The Resort opened in the year 2000.

Restaurants and Bars:

Restaurante Corotú – is the main, casual restaurant which is open daily from 6:30 am until 10:30 p.m. It offers international cuisine buffet style or a la carte with theme nights.

Restaurante Los Lagartos – located on the marina with a spectacular view of the ships transiting the Panama Canal. Tropical cuisine a la carte. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Restaurante Chagres River View – for a romantic dinner or private party, the chef will provide you with only gourmet specialties and a large selection of fine wines from around the world. Open from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 PM

Monkey Bar - is located in the lobby with live music. From the terrace of the bar you can enjoy a magnificent view of the National Park Soberania. It is open from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

La Cascada Pool Bar – swim to the bar and enjoy cocktails and tropical juices. It is open from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

In the lower part of the hotel is located the famous pool of Gamboa. It is divided into two parts, one for children with a depth of 1 foot and 5 foot for adults. Every Sunday you can play water volleyball games.

Spa:

At the heart of the Panama rainforest, there is a place where mother nature and the human spirit combine creating the ideal place to rejuvenate body and soul. The Gamboa SPA offers its guests a quiet, serene atmosphere for you to be pampered and revitalized using natural herbs treatments, minerals and ancestral secrets of local Indian tribes offering another level of relaxation and renewal.

Business Center:

In the Ocean Business Center you can take advantage of the use of computers, Internet, printer and fax. This open at your disposal from 8:30 am until 9:00 p.m.

In Zoovenirs you can find everything that you forgot, such as clothing, shoes and hats. Enjoy shopping for traditional Indian handcrafts, including molas, taguas (jewelry), and hardwood Cocobolo products. The Resort also offers a mini-pharmacy, a selection of books and other specialty items. It is open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Rooms and Villas:

Deluxe River View: offers a spacious luxury room with a large comfortable hammock and patio furniture on the private balcony with the lovely view of the Chagres River and the Rainforest.

The rooms are oversized and come with either two double beds or one king size bed, and the spacious bathroom is designed with stunning tile and exquisite details.

Maximum Capacity: Two Adults and Two Children.

Junior Suites: contain two floors and are ideal for families with children. On the first floor is the main room with a king size bed, a living area and bathroom. Ascending from this floor is a beautiful spiral staircase connecting it to the loft, where there are two twin beds and a second bathroom.

There are 13 Junior Suites in the Resort, all of which are located on the top floor. Just like the Deluxe River View Rooms, the Junior Suites offer guests the opportunity to relax in their hammocks, on their large private balconies, while enjoying spectacular views of the Rainforest.

Maximum Capacity: Two Adults and Two Children.

Suite Tivoli: is unique in the Resort. This Suite is the most luxurious and spacious the hotel, with a kitchenette and a loft with two twin beds, on each floor a bathroom with embroidered bathrobes. The room is located in a very privileged place, in the highest level of the main building, with the best view of the river and the rainforest.

Maximum Capacity: Two Adults and Three Children.

1 and 2 bedrooms Villas: designed especially for the traveler who enjoys contact with nature and physical activity, are located next to the Resort’s main building. 34 apartments built with historical wood in the year 1930 for the officers of Panama Canal Administration, now carefully renovated, decorated and furnished.

All villas have hardwood floors, living room, kitchen, sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, satellite TV and ceiling fans as well as air conditioning units, which are controlled individually. You can leave your apartment, take a deep breath and feel the fresh air that only found in the rainforest.
